Just maybe, MTV has a surprise up their sleeve for the Jersey Shore cast. The crew has been told to be prepared to start shooting the new season on March 20, according to Radar Online, and they are expected to have their passports, blood tests, and background checks attended to. Again, there will be no internet, TV, or cell phones permitted. Rumors that MTV has a house ready in Miami for their occupancy have been rampant, but when you think about it, that’s not a logical choice. The Jersey Shore cast is SO familiar to everyone in America that they would be treated like celebrities. What makes them interesting is a peek into their ordinary lives. So they HAVE to leave the country. A foreign environment could be the catalyst for some hilarious unexpected “situations.” It’s going to be quite a challenge to keep their location a secret.

THIS PHOTO INSPIRED THE BROADWAY SHOW “MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET”

Imagine that – a Broadway show called “Million Dollar Quartet” was created with THIS classic photograph as inspiration. An impromptu recording session in 1956 in Memphis engineered by producer Sam Phillips of Sun Records, kicked off the careers of Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash. The show, featuring great rockabilly songs from that era, ran for a year in Chicago and is set to open in New York this month. Only now, Jerry Lee Lewis, the only one of the four musicians still alive (and working,) is suing the producers because he wants a cut of the profits. It could turn out to be a big legal dilemma involving public figures and free speech. Lawyers have to decide if Jerry’s likeness is being used to sell tickets.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are pictured here visiting Johnny Depp at his house in Venice, Italy. Angelina and Johnny are currently filming “The Tourist” there. Presumably this friendly visit will squash those crazy rumors that Johnny’s girlfriend Vanessa Paradis ordered him to quit the movie because she’s afraid Angelina will seduce him. One of Brad’s first acting jobs was on Johnny’s TV series “21 Jump Street” and at the time he idolized Johnny. Brad was so influenced by Johnny that he started dressing like him, wearing plaid shirts and a black leather jacket.

It was purely coincidental, but if there’s a lull in the conversation they could always chat about their various drug incidents. And they have something else in common: these are the only two people visible in the audience who are wearing shades.

WHEN MARIAH CAREY SHOPS, SHE’S THE CENTER OF ATTENTION

Michael Evers was doing a photo shoot at Gregory’s posh clothing store in the Venetian Canal Shoppes in Las Vegas when Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon appeared and everything was put on hold. The place was cleared out so Mariah could select apparel and shoes for herself and her husband. When Mariah left, her purchases totaled $25,000 – including the $5000 alligator boots in the photo above that Mariah scooped up for Nick. Michael resumed the photography after Hurricane Carey departed.

BRAVO! STEVE MARTIN AND ALEC BALDWIN WERE THE BEST PART OF THE OSCARS

Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin are the answer to Oscar’s prayers. For the first time in YEARS, the hosts were better than the glamorous participants. The two pros played off each other expertly and there were no awkward silences or embarrassing moments (except for Neil Patrick Harris.) Two hosts are definitely better than one and these two were so entertaining that we kept wishing they were onstage MORE. Again, Alec has redeemed himself.

SNL pioneer Dan Aykroyd and his wife Donna Dixon had dinner at Crustacean in Beverly Hills this weekend. They’ve been married for 27 years, since they met while filming “Doctor Detroit,” and he still makes her laugh. Donna is a former beauty queen and KISS’s Paul Stanley wrote the song “I Still Love You” for her after she left him for Dan. The Aykroyds have three daughters aged 12 to 20.

SACHA BARON COHENS HUMOR WAS NOT APPRECIATED BY SERIOUS OSCAR PRODUCERS

We were SO looking forward to seeing Sacha Baron Cohen pull some sort of stunt and liven up the Oscars, but as you know, he was cut loose at the last minute because producers fear that Avatar director James Cameron has no sense of humor. Cohen had planned a skit with Ben Stiller where Sacha would be dressed up as a blue female Na’vi and Ben would “translate” her speech. The translation would have become more and more heated and finally the Na’vi would reveal that she was pregnant with Cameron’s child. This was supposed to lead to a hilarious Jerry Springer style surprise confrontation with Cameron. Producers were afraid that Cameron, instead of laughing, might actually walk OUT, since he is renowned for having highly publicized romances with his leading ladies. It might have been the funniest moment of the show…..

Kendra Wilkinson has been having a tough time since she gave birth to her son Hank Jr, last December. The former star of “The Girls Next Door” admits she had post-partum depression after the baby came, partly because she moved to Indianapolis where her husband Hank Baskett plays ball, and she felt isolated. (And BORED too, we’re guessing.) To cheer herself up, she high-tailed it back to Hollywood where she dressed up and attended a pre-Oscar party at Beso.

DOES THIS MAN REALLY LOOK LIKE HE APPRECIATES MO’NIQUE’S HAIRY LEGS?

We get the feeling that Mo’Nique has a Star Jones inspired marriage for two reasons. First of all, Monique insists that her manager/hubby Sidney Hicks LIKES her hairy self. (She admits she’s hairy all over.) He appears to be quite well-groomed himself, so this doesn’t fly. Second, Mo’Nique claims that they have an open marriage and Sidney is allowed to cheat – she doesn’t mind if he has sex outside the marriage. She carefully avoids the mention of other WOMEN so we’re thinking he might be bisexual. And there’s nothing wrong with that – personally, we’d love to have a gay husband – with health insurance.
